Why is the Cologne + Confectionery Set the right gift choice for companies?
Cologne and candy are classic products representing our culture. Both cologne and candy are highly appreciated on special occasions, holidays, and when visiting guests, much like 'yarım elma gönül elma' (a small gesture from the heart is worth a lot). It brings honor to the giver and happiness to the receiver…
We worked on a gift set that is not overly lavish but elegant and will be well-received. For the product, we used our 'Müderriszade' brand cologne and Akide candy. We added a lollipop to enhance the set's value. We placed the set in a handmade cardboard gift box. The products are protected with sponge inserts to prevent them from touching each other. We can apply company logos with gold foil on the box lid. This alternative provides an excellent opportunity for many companies to promote their corporate image. For companies looking for a nostalgic gift for corporate gifting, event gifts, or corporate promotions, the Cologne + Confectionery Set is a very 'sweet' option. The aim is to eat sweet and talk sweet 😊
It would also be appropriate to provide a brief explanation about the story of Akide Candy: The story of Akide candy originates from Topkapı Palace. The word 'akit', meaning allegiance or contract, represents a type of communication between the Sultan and the Janissaries in the Janissary tradition.
During the Ottoman era, on the day of the 'ulufe divanı' (Janissary payroll council), Janissaries' salaries were distributed, and meals were provided. A ceremony was held to demonstrate the satisfaction of the Kapıkulu soldiers with their salaries and meals. In the Akide ceremony, members of the Imperial Council (Divan-ı hümayun) would first taste the soldiers' food. Afterwards, they would be offered candy. This offering showed the soldiers' loyalty to the Sultan and their contentment. The offered candy would reassure everyone, symbolizing that the soldiers would not revolt against the Sultan. The 'akit' (agreement) would thus be established.
According to one account; Janissaries would offer candy to the newly enthroned Sultan. The offered bowl of candy would first be weighed. If the candy offered was 400g, it indicated that the Janissaries were pleased with the Sultan's ascension. If it was less than 400g, it signaled their displeasure. If the Sultan tasted the offered candy himself, he would convey the message 'I trust you'. If the Sultan gave the candy to the taster (çeşnicibaşı) without tasting it himself, he would convey the message 'I don't trust you either, and I am not pleased'. This process was called 'akitleşme' (making an agreement/covenant). This is why the candy was named Akide Candy.
